Cyber Security Engineer Job Description

Lockheed Martin Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing full spectrum cyber solutions for our Next Generation GEO (NGG) program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting cyber risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and mitigation solution analysis.
  • Developing, evaluating, and analyzing design constraints, trade-offs, and detailed system and security designs.
  • Implementing Assessment and Authorization activities as required by customers.
  • Managing ATO, ATC, IATT packages in eMASS.
Technical Requirements:
  • Assessing and driving mitigation efforts of system security threats/risks throughout the program lifecycle for the Space Vehicles and Ground system.
  • Implementation of security policies and configurations to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) objectives.
  • Interacting with other engineering disciplines to implement security designs, resolve vulnerabilities, modify system or software components security settings, and mitigate risk.
  • Performing System Engineering activities to manage Cyber requirements for tracking until closure.
Qualifications:
  • DOD 8570 Experience.
  • Experience with Authorization and Accreditation processes using Risk Management Framework methodologies.
  • Experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements, policies, and procedures.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience performing cybersecurity accreditation activities in support of software and system requirements, design, development, testing, and sustainment of approvals - Authority To Operate.
  • Experience with NetBrain, Zenoss, and Hewlett Packard Network Automation (HPNA).
  • Familiar with eMASS, HBSS, ACAS, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), DISA STIGs.
  • Experience with Secure Configuration/Hardening of DoD Information Systems.
  • Experience with Intel Driven Threat Modeling, preferably classified Cyber Threat Intel Support.
  • Experience briefing complex cyber security principles to all levels of knowledge and skill.
  • Experience briefing high level customer stakeholders with cyber security concerns and remediation tactics.
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53.
  • Experience with RHEL and Windows Server/Professional.
  • Experience with SIEM and cloud technologies including LogRhythm, Splunk, Jira, and Confluence.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification.
  • Ability to provide guidance on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements to engineering and software development staff.
  • Experience with responding to cyber incidents from detection through remediation.
Security Clearance:

This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
