About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to join our team at Monarch Landscape Companies. As an Irrigation Technician, you will be responsible for performing irrigation work at specific job sites, ensuring that all work is done safely and in accordance with prescribed standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform irrigation work at job sites, including installing, repairing, and maintaining sprinkler systems and irrigation valves.
- Read and understand irrigation plans, and create as-built drawings and site activity maps as needed.
- Repair and maintain various types of pipe, including copper and asbestos cement, and install and repair sprinkler systems and irrigation valves.
- Position sprinklers correctly and troubleshoot and repair solenoid-operated irrigation control valves.
- Check irrigation programs on controllers and operate valves electronically by remote.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in irrigation, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid California Driver License with a clean DMV record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. of weight frequently throughout the day.
- Ability to work in various positions, including standing, walking, stooping, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
- Knowledge of landscape and maintenance techniques, methods, and tools.
- Complete knowledge of irrigation wiring, wire trouble shooting, and wire fault locating.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions from supervisor and management.
- Ability to work with and assist crew members.
- Ability to deal courteously with the public.
