We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team at Mercy Health System. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

About the Role

This Registered Nurse position will involve providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working together to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized plans of care.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to prioritize patient needs and provide high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between shifts.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, adhering to established standards of care and documentation.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, including shared governance and departmental quality initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current IL RN licensure by the IL Dept of Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • Approved CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year of hire.
  • National Institute Healthcare Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within one year of hire.
