We are seeking a skilled Crane Mechanic to join our team at Insight Global. As a Crane Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing crane systems, including engines, electrical and computer systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, brakes, and other basic components.
- Operate hoists, forklifts, and/or hand trucks to handle, dismantle, and reassemble heavy material and equipment.
- Diagnose defects, faults, or malfunctions in machines or heavy equipment and determine required repairs.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers and OEM specifications.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Fabricate, modify, and install special equipment or replacement parts using specialty tools.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
- Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on vehicles and equipment.
- 5+ years of experience as a heavy machinery mechanic, with both hydraulic and electrical experience.
- 2-3 years of experience hands-on with Crane mechanics.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical.
- Must be able to provide own tools (specialty tools will be provided).
- Comfortable working overtime and weekends when needed.
- CDL.
- Certifications.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
