Job Title: Director I

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director I to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning for our department.

Key Responsibilities:

Directs program activities and/or business functions within a department or division.

Develops and implements techniques for evaluating program activities and/or business functions within a department or division.

Oversees all activities and functions that must be accomplished to maintain a desired level of excellence.

Analyzes, designs, develops, implements and evaluates performance measures relative to quality management of training.

Develops standards to measure the quality of development, delivery and support products and services.

Utilizes data to make informed decisions and recommendations for continuous quality improvement.

Develops and establishes goals and objectives consistent with the agency's strategic plan.

Establishes goals and objectives in accordance with industry standards with an emphasis on innovation.

Develops, reviews, and approves budgets and major expenditures; and ensures that requirements of funding sources are met.

Develops policies, procedures, and guidelines; and implements and monitors compliance.

Plans, develops, and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and directs evaluation activities.

Represents the agency at business meetings, hearings, trials, legislative sessions, conferences, and seminars or on boards, panels, and committees.

Requirements:

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to program activities and/or business functions.

Skill in establishing plans and setting objectives and goals that support an overall business strategy.

Ability to direct and organize program activities and/or business functions; to establish goals and objectives that support the strategic plan; to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions; to develop and evaluate policies and procedures; to prepare reports; to communicate effectively; and to supervise the work of other employees.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a standard office environment.

May require occasional travel to meetings and conferences.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.

Special Requirements:

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be able to pass a background check.
