Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Program Director to lead our Rural Family Medicine Residency Program at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive residency program that focuses on serving underserved populations in rural areas.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Program Development: Design and implement a residency program that meets the needs of rural communities, with a focus on providing high-quality clinical care and education.
  2. Faculty Management: Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse team of faculty members who are committed to teaching, research, and service.
  3. Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a curriculum that is tailored to the needs of rural family medicine residents, with a focus on common procedures, health disparities, and equity.
  4. Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure that the residency program meets the accreditation standards of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and other relevant accrediting bodies.
  5. Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders to ensure that the residency program is responsive to the needs of rural communities.
Requirements
  • Education: Must have a medical degree and be board certified in Family Medicine.
  • Experience: Must have at least 5 years of experience in family medicine and 3-5 years of experience as a faculty member in a family medicine residency program.
  • Skills: Must have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
