We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our Cardiology team at Southern Ohio Medical Center. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine registration of patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations for appointments and procedures.
- Answer multi-line phones, schedule appointments, and collect patient payments.
- Collaborate with the Physician Billing Department to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate patient billing.
- Assist in the coordination of care for patients, working closely with other healthcare team members to meet patient needs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Medical office and computer experience preferred.
