Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Youth Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about providing high-quality care to youth in need.

The LPN will be responsible for providing quality professional health services, including sick call, regular medical assessments, daily triage of injuries and illnesses, record review, health screening, and health education. The successful candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $43,220 - $48,948, based on industry standards and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan with a 100% match up to 4% of your salary after 60 days of employment. Other benefits include paid time off, 7 paid holidays, tuition assistance, and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides clients with quality professional health services, including sick call, regular medical assessments, daily triage of injuries and illnesses, record review, health screening, and health education.
  • Triage illness and injuries at each shift, determine medical priority, and treat within the scope of nursing practice; use physician standing orders, or referral when treatment is beyond the scope of nursing practice.
  • Conduct required health screenings, including height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, pulse, vision, hearing, acute and chronic illness evaluation, and substance abuse initial screenings.
  • Assist appropriate medical staff with administering prescribed medications, including treatment within the scope of LPN practice.

Requirements:

  • Education: Requires education and licensing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Must have and maintain current and appropriate LPN licensure in the state where employed.
  • Experience: Two years of school, correctional, doctors' office, camp, industrial, or public health experience preferred. Experience working pediatric/adolescent patient care preferred.
  • Skills: Requires discretion and judgment in making decisions. Must have working knowledge of child/adolescent-related illness. Must be CPR certified. Specialized Knowledge - Familiar with the psychological/physical needs of youth.
