Role Summary
The Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in advancing the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare by delivering exceptional, patient-focused customer service within a collaborative team setting. This position is essential in ensuring a positive patient experience by addressing administrative needs and embodying our core values: Compassion, Above & Beyond, Generosity, Integrity, and Teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service while assisting patients in a fast-paced environment, effectively addressing their needs with efficiency and courtesy.
- Assess insurance eligibility and inform patients about available programs through Neighborhood Healthcare.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments accurately, adhering to established protocols, and reschedule as necessary.
- Process payments for services and maintain accurate records in the system.
- Ensure patient records are current and accurate, making necessary updates in the electronic system.
- Manage challenging situations with poise, identifying solutions to meet patient needs.
- Monitor provider schedules to optimize appointment availability.
- Update patient charts in electronic health records upon their arrival.
- Respond promptly and empathetically to patients and staff, respecting their psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural beliefs.
- Foster professional relationships with all staff, clients, and the public.
- Collaborate effectively within the team to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications
Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required. Strong verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets and databases, is necessary. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations are required. Excellent customer service skills are a must.
Education: High School diploma or GED is required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of customer service experience is required. Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records is advantageous.

Compensation: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
