Job Summary

The Maintenance Lead Technician will be responsible for supporting the maintenance function of Dollar General stores within a specific geographic area. This role involves responding to maintenance requests, conducting preventative maintenance assessments, and supervising Field-Based Maintenance Technicians. Daily tasks include traveling to store locations, addressing entry-level maintenance repairs, and educating store leaders on maintenance best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Traveling to sites with reported maintenance concerns to ensure prompt resolution
  • Recruiting and retaining qualified maintenance personnel to support store operations
  • Providing training and conducting performance evaluations to ensure team members meet expectations
  • Troubleshooting asset information and guiding operational solutions to minimize downtime
  • Supporting entry-level maintenance tasks to ensure seamless store operations
  • Supervising the maintenance technician team to ensure efficient and effective maintenance practices
  • Completing various maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, door maintenance, and pest control to maintain store facilities
  • Ensuring fire safety equipment compliance to protect store employees and customers
  • Documenting and resolving maintenance tickets in a timely manner to maintain accurate records
  • Performing root cause analysis and training when necessary to prevent future issues
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to address urgent maintenance needs
  • Conducting preventative maintenance checks on-site to identify potential issues before they become major problems

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills to resolve complex maintenance issues
  • Basic computer knowledge to navigate maintenance software and systems
  • Experience with power tools and equipment to perform maintenance tasks
  • Effective communication skills to educate store leaders on maintenance best practices
  • Commitment to customer service to ensure store facilities meet customer expectations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet maintenance deadlines
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required

Work Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Relevant retail or maintenance experience preferred
  • Vocational training in a related field preferred
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% to support store operations
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Background Check
