Job Summary

Evaluate patients, plan treatment programs, and provide speech therapy interventions to maximize customer satisfaction and rehabilitation potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform speech therapy patient evaluations
  • Communicate treatment plans, goals, and progress to patients and caregivers
  • Provide speech therapy interventions according to established plans
  • Instruct patients and caregivers in home programs
  • Document medical records according to established criteria
  • Communicate with healthcare professionals and delegate tasks as needed
  • Supervise interventions provided by Rehab Aides, students, and interns
  • Re-evaluate patients, modify treatment programs, and make recommendations at discharge
  • Cooperate with support staff and other departments to maximize efficiency
Requirements
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech & Hearing Association or Eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year
  • State of Michigan Speech Language Pathologist License
  • BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association upon hire
  • Valid Driver's License and Automobile Insurance
  • At least one year of professional work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Home Care experience
  • Experience with Vital Stim
  • Experience with FEES
  • Experience with voice disorders
  • Experience with videofluoroscopic studies
