We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Occupational Medicine and Wellness Services team at Yale New Haven Health. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of our physicians and Medical Director to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the efficient operation of our clinic.
Responsibilities- Perform pre-placement and periodic surveillance examinations on patients, collecting complete medical histories and performing thorough physical examinations.
- Order, review, and interpret results of ancillary testing, including blood tests, X-rays, and EKGs.
- Consolidate data and compare it to the physical demands of the position to make appointment placement decisions.
- Evaluate employees with work-related injuries, illnesses, or exposures, and provide urgent care as needed.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including the use of physical therapy and specialists as necessary.
- Document information accurately and completely in progress notes, dictations, and discharge reports.
- Perform routine procedures, such as foreign body removal, suturing, and wound care.
- Prescribe medication as needed.
- Collaborate with co-workers and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- One to three years of patient care experience in ambulatory, emergency, orthopedics, or occupational medicine preferred.
- NRCME-certified to perform commercial driver examinations (or willing to obtain within 3 months).
- Active PA Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Active Connecticut State Registered Nurse License, Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License Board specialty certification, Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, and DEA License.
The Advanced Practice Provider will provide clinical coverage for the Occupational Medicine office at Greenwich Hospital.
