Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Orthopedic Surgical Unit on a PRN basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working closely with our registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, collecting specimens, and performing wound care, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Contribute to patient assessment by collecting data for analysis by a registered nurse.
  • Assist with the development of patient care plans, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document patient care provided, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitor and communicate patient status and reactions to interventions with the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
