Job OpportunityWe are seeking an Underwriting Technician to join our Surety team in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment. As an Underwriting Technician, you will work closely with our underwriting team to support production and related underwriting efforts. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Preparing documents and information related to new business opportunities.
- Assisting with agency appointments, powers of attorney, indemnity, and other required agreements.
- Creating and maintaining account and bond files.
- Reviewing bond request forms and supporting documents to calculate and book new, renewal, and bond close-outs.
- Communicating regularly and effectively with broker partners and other BHSI teammates both verbally and in writing.
- Working collaboratively with broker partners and BHSI teammates to reconcile accounting discrepancies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 3 years of Surety experience.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- A self-starter mentality and comfort with ambiguity.
- A commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
- Proactive and collaborative approach.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word), Web-based, and similar business applications.
