Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter Community Liaison

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our community team as a Community Liaison. This role will involve providing high-quality interpretation services to Deaf and hearing individuals in various settings.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both in American Sign Language (ASL) and English. They will be able to effectively interpret between ASL and spoken English, and work collaboratively with our team to provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide interpretation services between ASL and spoken English in various settings
  • Work collaboratively with our team to provide exceptional customer service
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Deaf and hearing community members
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance interpreting skills
  • Adhere to Sorenson Communications policies and procedures, and the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Interpreter certification required
  • 3 years' experience working as an interpreter
  • Ability to travel independently in the metropolitan area
