Aerospace Assembly Specialist at AMETEK

The Aerospace Assembly Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Design, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Materials teams in the creation and assembly of both new and existing aerospace products. This position encompasses a variety of assembly tasks for a range of aerospace sensors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engagement in Development: Actively involved in the creation, execution, and application of assembly and testing processes for mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic instruments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to aid in the development and documentation of new products, along with their associated processes, fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
  • Assembly Proficiency: Capable of constructing qualification and initial build products from sketches and detailed work instructions. Execute manufacturing operations as dictated by verbal instructions, engineering drawings, and quality documents.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and support opportunities to enhance both new and existing manufacturing processes, fixtures, tooling, and equipment. This support may involve providing suggestions or actively participating with engineering teams focused on process improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Ongoing Production Support: Manage all manufacturing tasks (fabrication, assembly, and testing) necessary to sustain ongoing production.
  • Product Transition Assistance: Aid in the preparation of products, equipment, fixtures, tooling, and related documentation for transitions to other AMETEK manufacturing facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend requirements outlined in engineering drawings, sketches, manufacturing instructions, and other operational documents.

Due to contractual obligations with the United States Government, candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders.
