About Beatrix - River North

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at Beatrix - River North, a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant, and meeting place. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor BOH operations, ensuring effective and efficient management of inventory, purchasing, and food costs.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to hourly and management teams, fostering a Culture of Caring.
  • Research and develop seasonal menus and new menu items in partnership with divisional leaders.
  • Ensure effective BOH training and conduct quarterly audits of standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with chefs to purchase and order food products and supplies.
  • Collaborate with GM and management team to review and maintain recipe books and costing.
  • Model and promote teamwork across all teams.
  • Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges related to guests, vendors, and employees.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Executive Chef experience in a full-service restaurant.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams.
  • Skilled in managing BOH systems.
