Physician - Hospital Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our Hospital Medicine team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a key member of our team, you will provide medical expertise and oversight of care to patients within our healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities- Attend and actively participate in hospital multidisciplinary rounds to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Provide admission services for the Emergency Department, incoming transfer patients, and direct or emergent admissions in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Offer co-management services for subspecialty services within the scope of your privileges.
- Provide consultative services for members of the Medical Staff when necessary.
- Accept transfers of care from other clinical service lines, ensuring a smooth transition of care.
- Provide timely evaluation of patients admitted to the hospital, adhering to Medical Executive Committee bylaws.
- Abide by hospital guidelines, bylaws, and policies.
- Document History and Physicals within 12 hours and Discharge Summaries within 48 hours of discharge order.
- Participate in nursing and staff education, responding to clinical queries in a timely manner.
- Provide post-discharge coverage for home health orders and encourage in-network utilization of resources for continuity of care.
- Respond to pages and call backs from nursing staff in a timely manner, unless it impacts patient safety or experience.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine.
- Current state medical license.
- Current Federal Drug Enforcement Agency license.
- Staff privileges at all hospitals for which coverage is being provided.
- Board certified or Board eligible.
- Basic Cardiac Life Certification or Advanced Cardiac Life Certification.
