Hospital Medicine Physician Southwest

We are seeking a highly skilled Hospital Medicine Physician to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a key member of our hospital medicine team, you will be responsible for providing medical expertise and oversight of care to patients within our healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities- Attend and actively participate in hospital multidisciplinary rounds to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Provide admission services for the Emergency Department, incoming transfer patients, and direct or emergent admissions in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Offer co-management services for subspecialty services within the scope of your privileges.
- Provide consultative services for members of the Medical Staff when necessary.
- Accept transfers of care from other clinical service lines with proper physician-to-physician handoff communication.
- Provide timely evaluation of patients admitted to the hospital in accordance with Medical Executive Committee bylaws.
- Abide by hospital tenants, guidelines, and bylaws.
- Document History and Physicals within 12 hours and Discharge Summaries within 48 hours of discharge order.
- Participate in nursing and staff education when requested.
- Respond to clinical queries in a timely fashion.
- Provide post-discharge coverage for appropriate home health orders for up to 2 weeks or until the patient has seen their primary care physician.
- Encourage in-network utilization of resources for continuity of care.
- Respond to pages and call backs from nursing staff in a timely manner.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine.
- Current state medical license.
- Current Federal Drug Enforcement Agency license.
- State controlled substance license.
- Staff privileges at all hospitals for which coverage is being provided.
- Board certified or Board eligible.
- Basic Cardiac Life Certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Certification.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exhibits teamwork skills that facilitate interchange between multidisciplinary healthcare workers.
- Superior problem-solving skills.
- Is articulate and an active listener.
- Addresses issues/concerns with the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in a timely fashion.
