Job Overview

Weave is seeking a skilled VoIP Engineer with extensive experience in advanced communication technologies and cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise with Kamailio, RTPengine, FreeSWITCH, and HEPIC/Homer, along with a solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and Google Cloud.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and enhance a distributed cloud-based VoIP infrastructure.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot configurations of FreeSWITCH and Kamailio to ensure peak performance and reliability.
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain services that support the voice platform.
  • Monitor VoIP network performance, identifying areas for enhancement and executing solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Resolve VoIP-related challenges, including call quality issues, connectivity problems, and system outages.
  • Develop microservices and containers using Golang.
  • Deploy services within Kubernetes environments.
  • Maintain and configure instances of Kamailio and FreeSWITCH.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a VoIP network engineer.
  • Familiarity with VoIP applications such as Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, RTPEngine, and Asterisk.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools like Wireshark, sngrep, and Homer.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networks, firewalls, and relevant protocols (SIP, RTP, RTCP, TLS, ICE, STUN, TURN, WebRTC).
  • Programming skills in languages such as Go, Java, or C.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or LUA.
  • Experience with DevOps tools for managing and automating cloud infrastructure, including Terraform and Ansible.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies and tools.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 5 years of experience in designing and supporting large-scale VoIP networks.
  • Certifications in Kamailio or OpenSIPS.
