The Business Development Representative is responsible for driving the department's growth by identifying and closing new business sales. This role is perfect for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a competitive environment and excels at building relationships with potential new clients.
Sales opportunities will be existing clients and new prospects. Quality prospecting leads will be provided.
Key Responsibilities- Make outbound calls to prospective clients.
- Set sales appointments.
- Prospect with existing customers.
- Closing sales, sign contracts, and onboard new clients.
- Attend and present annual and quarterly results.
- Adapt to change and take initiative in actions or sales.
- Follow through on commitments, and motivation to achieve goals and commitments.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
- Previous experience in insurance P&C sales.
- At least 1-2 years of previous experience in sales prospecting and appointment setting.
- Must be P&C licensed.
- Must have a general understanding of P& C insurance markets preferably with admitted and non-admitted.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
