Position Overview: This role is designed as a hybrid position, requiring on-site presence for three days each week. Candidates should possess experience in mortgage industry auditing and compliance.

The Compliance Audit Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting Cenlar's quality control and risk management objectives aimed at minimizing compliance and operational risks. This position emphasizes conducting compliance evaluations through sampling studies of operational practices and ensuring adherence to internal controls and procedures.

  • Maintain and update regulatory compliance metrics, including Federal, State, and GSE requirements.
  • Conduct various compliance audits and provide expertise during internal audits.
  • Perform regulatory audits in a high-volume setting.
  • Execute internal audit testing, including the development of audit test steps for regulatory compliance.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of mortgage servicing regulations to effectively audit specific operations and processes.
  • Develop and engage with audit risk assessments.
  • Formulate and collaborate on validation audit procedures, offering expertise in conjunction with validation activities and projects.
  • Review regulatory audit findings as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; advanced degrees and/or certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA, CRCM, CAMS, MBA, etc.) are preferred. Certification as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) is recommended.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory processes, operations, and requirements within a mortgage servicing context.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance risk management concepts, data, frameworks, systems, methods, and governance practices.
  • Solid experience in Mortgage Servicing and Risk Management.
  • Exceptional project management and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven capacity to multitask and adjust priorities effectively.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including 40 hours of continuing education annually, as approved by the Vice President of Internal Audit.
