Position Overview:


The Housekeeping Room Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest accommodations to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction and maximize revenue.


Key Responsibilities:


- Organize and prepare cleaning supplies, ensuring that all equipment and storage areas are kept tidy and efficient for optimal workflow.


- Clean and sanitize windows, doors, walls, and fixtures in guest rooms and common areas, utilizing ladders or stools for hard-to-reach spots to uphold a pristine environment.

- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms by thoroughly cleaning shower walls, toilets, sinks, and mirrors to provide sanitary facilities for guests.


- Replace towels, soaps, and other room amenities, ensuring that all supplies are adequately stocked for incoming guests.

- Perform thorough cleaning of hard floor surfaces by hand to eliminate dirt and maintain a polished appearance.


- Dust and polish all furniture and fixtures, including vents and ceiling corners, to remove dust and cobwebs.


- Change linens and remake beds, checking for cleanliness and replacing any soiled items.

- Inspect and clean closets, ensuring that all guest supplies are replenished and organized.


- Vacuum all areas, including public spaces and hallways, moving furniture as necessary to ensure comprehensive cleaning.


- Check the functionality of door and window locks, reporting any security concerns to management promptly.


- Ensure all room equipment is in working order, reporting any maintenance issues to the Executive Housekeeper for immediate attention.


- Safeguard and manage all cleaning equipment and supplies to protect hotel property.


- Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor while interacting with guests and colleagues.



Other duties may be assigned as necessary by management.

Qualifications:
Education/Training

- No formal education or training required.

Experience

- No prior experience necessary.

Knowledge/Skills

- Basic understanding of cleaning principles and the use of cleaning products and equipment is essential.

- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively.

Physical Demands


The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the shift.

- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver equipment and furniture as needed.

- Must be capable of working with arms raised above head for extended periods.


- Must be able to navigate a fully loaded cleaning cart, weighing up to 50 lbs., throughout the workday.

Attention to detail is crucial, especially in identifying debris in low-light areas and reading instructions.

Environment

- The role involves prolonged physical activity in a climate-controlled indoor environment, with exposure to heat and humidity in laundry areas. 95% of the shift is spent indoors.
