Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Oversee the hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of staff.
    • Interact frequently with direct reports and functional peer groups, requiring the ability to gain cooperation and achieve shared goals.
    • Provide direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors, acting as an advisor to the department and contributing to the resolution of complex problems.
  • Generation Operations
    • Coordinate the integration of generation resources into the ERCOT System, from initial application to commercial operations.
    • Review and approve screening studies, interconnection study scopes, and Standard Generation Interconnection Agreements.
    • Develop and maintain databases for Resource Entity modeling, ensuring consistency across multiple departments.
    • Represent ERCOT in technical committees and subcommittees, and serve as an expert witness on generation interconnection matters.
  • Business Development and Planning
    • Work proactively with upper management to plan and execute ERCOT's mission and initiatives.
    • Participate in the development and administration of department budget and financial goals.
    • Assist in establishing department goals and initiatives to implement them.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power engineering, electric transmission, or a related field.
    • Prior experience supervising or leading a team or projects is preferred.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Required).
    • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred).
  • Certification
    • PE Professional Engineer (Preferred).
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site in Taylor, TX, with an estimated 2 days per week. Circumstances and business needs may require more frequent on-site work. On-site requirements are at the discretion of Management.
