We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Women's Services/Nursery team at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Document patient care given.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 30 days of hire
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
- NRP within 3 months of hire
- STABLE within 6 months of hire
- Current and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee or compact license with the required forms filed with the State of Tennessee within 30 days.
