Isobar Public Sector is on the lookout for a Kubernetes Subject Matter Expert (SME). The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and practical experience in designing, constructing, and managing elastic, cost-efficient, resilient, and secure cloud architectures.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
- Provide technical and managerial leadership on significant tasks or technology assignments.
- Establish objectives and plans that align with project goals.
- Design, build, and operate scalable, robust, and secure cloud architectures utilizing modern methodologies such as service mesh and loosely coupled design.
- Maintain, configure, and oversee container environments using Infrastructure as Code principles across Development, Testing, and Production stages.
- Design and implement network connectivity and provisioning strategies, ensuring a solid cloud foundation that meets compliance requirements.
- Develop containerized solutions for various database types, data auditing, caching, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with other architects on security, data protection, and failover strategies.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implementations.
- Design and implement Kubernetes solutions both in the cloud and at the edge.
- Implement Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment processes using various CI/CD tools and container registries.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code for edge Kubernetes deployments.
The successful candidate will be:
- A US Citizen capable of obtaining a Secret Security Clearance.
- Residing in the US due to clearance requirements.
- Possessing over 8 years of experience with DevSecOps methodologies and tools, including CI/CD, GitOps, and both static and dynamic testing.
- Having at least 5 years of experience with edge and hybrid edge deployments.
- Experienced in providing technical guidance to engineers in an Agile setting for a minimum of 3 years.
- Demonstrating in-depth, hands-on experience with containerization and Kubernetes for over 5 years.
- Knowledgeable in building platforms at scale for containerized workloads, including cluster provisioning, operations, workload optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Familiar with core Kubernetes concepts, APIs, and cluster architecture.
- Experienced in GitOps and Continuous Deployment in hybrid environments.
- Expert in Kubernetes, Istio, and Helm, with experience in creating custom Helm charts.
- Advanced in building bare metal deployments using technologies such as Proxmox, Redfish, and others.
- Proficient in Ansible, Linux administration, and potentially Crossplane deployments.
- Knowledgeable in security and compliance aspects for Kubernetes.
Strong client-facing and communication skills are essential. Certification as a Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is a plus.

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $170,000 and $190,000, based on various factors including experience and qualifications.
