# Position Summary:

The Project Risk Manager is a pivotal member of the project management team, tasked with overseeing the risk management program for a significant project. This role involves establishing the risk management framework and providing ongoing guidance, support, and subject matter expertise to both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will cultivate resilient relationships with clients and strategically maintain the trust of project leadership. This position requires a confident, influential individual capable of fostering focus on project risk management, leading through encouragement, and connecting risk management with key project interfaces. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role is essential for project success.

# Responsibilities:

+ Lead and manage the project risk management program effectively.

+ Proactively focus on identifying and managing risks.

+ Mentor and train project leaders on risk awareness and management practices.

+ Conduct training sessions on project risk management methodologies.

+ Facilitate context-specific workshops on a monthly basis.

+ Develop and implement project-specific risk management procedures in alignment with the Project Execution Plan.

+ Report on top risks and conduct quantitative analyses for key stakeholders.

+ Represent the risk management program at project leadership meetings.

+ Collaborate with Bechtel and client leaders on all aspects of the risk management program.

+ Demonstrate the ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines under pressure.

# Qualifications and Skills:

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ A minimum of 10 years of experience in Qualitative Risk Management.

+ Proven ability to establish Quantitative Risk Management (QSRA QCRA).

+ Experience in facilitating risk workshops and conducting risk reviews.

+ At least 15 years of professional experience in engineering and construction, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.

+ Over 10 years of experience in the Rail and transportation sector.

+ Familiarity with the NYC rail sector is preferred.

+ A Master's degree in Engineering, Construction, or Management is preferred; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

+ Knowledge of international risk standards (e.g., ISO31000, PMI) and risk management tools (e.g., ARM, At-Risk).

+ Experience with a holistic approach to risk management at the portfolio or program level.

+ Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.

+ Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging with various levels of management and client relations.

+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

+ A strategic thinker with the ability to communicate effectively across all layers of the project team.
