Part-Time Editor

We are seeking a skilled Part-Time News Editor to join our team at 40/29, the ABC affiliate in Rogers. As a key member of our newsroom, you will be responsible for editing stories, videos, and newscasts on tight deadlines, maintaining news archives, and operating electronic newsgathering equipment.

• Edit news stories, videos, and newscasts for broadcast and online platforms
• Maintain and organize news archives, ensuring easy access to historical footage and information
• Operate electronic newsgathering equipment, including cameras, sound equipment, and lighting
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, and managers to produce high-quality news stories
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of edited content
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of current events, news trends, and industry developments

• Proven experience in news editing, with a strong understanding of storytelling principles and visual elements
• Proficiency in nonlinear editing software, including Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Avid
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced news environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
