We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Screener to join our team at Octapharma Plasma. As a Medical Screener, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations.
Key Responsibilities- Register new and current donors and conduct a series of screening procedures to determine suitability for plasma donation
- Maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and regulatory guidelines
- Provide excellent customer service to donors, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Manage donor flow, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and perform daily calibration of equipment
- Train and provide leadership to new and existing employees, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork
- Perform donor medical screening, including reviewing health-related documents, taking vital signs, and performing finger sticks and screening equipment
- Perform clerical duties, including creating and maintaining donor record files and inputting information into the donor management computer software
- Ensure all donation information is complete, accurate, and legible prior to donation
- Follow all OSHA requirements and company personnel policies
- Remain alert for any adverse donor reactions and notify appropriate staff
- Maintain confidentiality with all specific donor issues and record-keeping activities
- Stock and maintain an orderly work area with sufficient supplies to meet production demands
- Clean and maintain equipment on a daily basis in accordance with established procedures
- Communicate with management regarding pertinent information regarding work areas
- Educate new donors on the use of products made from donated plasma, including explaining the process, tests performed, appointment system, fees, center policies, proper nutrition, and any other information pertinent to the donor
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts
- Ability to lift up to thirty-five pounds
- Strong customer service skills and ability to understand and follow protocol
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Demonstrates consistency and reliability (attendance, attitude, work ethic, etc.)
- General computer skills
- Bilingual is a plus (not required)
- CPR Certification is a plus (not required)
- Formal training
