Position Summary

We are in search of a meticulous and resourceful Field Service Technician to become a vital member of our Equipment Readiness Team. This role involves ensuring the operational readiness and maintenance of our field equipment. The technician will receive task assignments from the Field Technician Supervisor and will work under the guidance of the Site Supervisor for specific field operations. Responsibilities include setting up equipment for field applications, conducting repairs, and calibrating welding systems at various job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of equipment to the component level, including shipping, receiving, and preparing equipment for field applications.
  • Identify and rectify issues with automated and manual welding equipment, along with associated components.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with in-house maintenance teams, engineering, field project management, and site personnel to meet job requirements.
  • Ensure the organization and cleanliness of tools and workspaces.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Stay informed about departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Education: An Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, specialized military training in an electro/mechanical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Prior OSHA safety training in sectors such as power generation, petroleum, and chemicals is advantageous.
  • Ability to operate forklift equipment is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Familiarity with both automated and manual TIG and MIG welding processes is essential.

Competency Requirements

  • Ability to diagnose errors or technical issues with automated equipment and machine tools, including necessary repairs to wiring, circuit boards, and mechanical components.
  • Capability to read schematics and follow signal paths effectively.
  • Knowledge of CNC, PLC, and Relay Logic is beneficial.

Travel Requirements: This position requires extensive travel. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Passport or be eligible to obtain one.
