Job Summary

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Instructor to join our Adult Education team. As a Mathematics Educator, you will play a critical role in preparing adult learners for the High School Equivalency (HSE) exam and post-secondary professional and academic pursuits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective teaching techniques and assessment methods to support the rigorous program.
  • Evaluate student oral presentations, projects, and written work using criteria relevant to the course content and learning objectives.
  • Maintain and submit accurate records to meet published deadlines (i.e., syllabi, attendance, weekly lesson plans).
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with colleagues on matters regarding course offerings, programs, and activities that enhance the development of Adult Career Education Services.
  • Meet professional development requirements.
  • Attend faculty meetings.
  • Adhere to the prescribed curriculum and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Literacy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching basic through intermediate level math, or High School Equivalent testing preparation.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, temporary, non-tenure track position. Classes are typically held for 8-9 weeks, 3 days a week, 3 hours per day in the AM times are 9:00 am - 12:00 noon and PM times are typically 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm and times will vary at different locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

Benefits

The College of Southern Nevada offers a competitive hourly rate of $30.00. This position is exempt and requires a 48.8% full-time equivalent.
