Job Summary:

As a Pediatric Cardiology Professor at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, you will contribute to the university's mission through teaching, research, and service. Your expertise in pediatric cardiology will be essential in providing patient care and diagnosis to newborns, children, and adolescents. You will determine the nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribe and administer medication, and supervise mid-level providers in the clinical setting. Additionally, you will participate in research and scholarly activities within the Department of Pediatrics and demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility. You will also participate in the education of medical students and residents of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.

Responsibilities:

Provides patient care and diagnosis in Cardiology to newborns, children, and adolescents

Determines nature and extent of disease or injury

Prescribes and administers medication

Supervises mid-level providers in the clinical setting

Ensures compliance with HIPPAA and billing regulations

Participates in research and scholarly activities within the Department of Pediatrics

Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Participates in the education of medical students and residents of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine

Requirements:

M.D./D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree

Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program

Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program

Eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License

Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics or eligible to sit for examination in Pediatric Cardiology
