Job Title: Patient Care Assistant

At Houston Methodist, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and services under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hourly rounding to ensure patient needs are met and record data established by policy and procedure.
  • Assist with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity.
  • Provide direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and document care administered, diagnostic measurements, treatments, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional health care team to improve patient safety and contribute towards improving quality and safety scores.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Must complete one of the following: PCA externship, PCA internal internship, six months of direct patient care experience, or enrolled in a school of nursing program with a completed first clinical rotation.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) and CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - State Licensure (for Skilled Nursing Facility/SNF/Rehab departments only).
