Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Optum. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using state-of-the-art equipment
  • Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper file identification
  • Assist patients with preparation and positioning for exams
  • Operate equipment and review images to ensure technical accuracy
  • Communicate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of patient exams and procedures
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in radiography or sonography preferred
  • ARDMS certification required; MFM certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in ultrasonography; 1+ year of experience in a similar role preferred
  • Proven ability to follow oral and written instructions; communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and employees
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds; stand and walk for extended periods
