About the Job

This position involves interacting with residents to assist with viewing and touring properties, providing information about apartment homes, processing rental applications, securing lease agreements, and assisting with lease renewals. The Leasing Consultant will conduct all job duties in accordance with Fair Housing Laws and company policy, supporting the overall objective of meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relations: Carry out the philosophies and wishes of the owner in daily operations to ensure FPI is meeting client objectives and expectations.
  • Communication: Maintain positive, professional communication with applicants, residents, vendors, clients, and guests while representing FPI.
  • Leasing/Occupancy: Maintain occupancy levels as established by owner expectations, exhibit professional leasing techniques, and assist with advertising and marketing strategies for the apartment community.
  • Reporting and Document Management: Maintain resident files, ensure documents and reporting systems are maintained and organized, and may assist in periodic reporting requirements.
  • Risk Management: Ensure compliance of Risk Management items through following FPI Standard Operating Procedures, report timely any/all injuries or property damage, and react calmly in emergency situations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with reporting maintenance needs, document facility and maintenance concerns, and follow up on maintenance requests.
  • Enforce community rules and regulations, comply with Fair Housing Laws and FPI policies, and promote a professional image.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in Residential Property Management.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs, including LIHTC, HUD programs, USDA-Rural Development, HCD, HOME Funds, and Bonds.
  • Valid Driver's License, good driving record, current motor vehicle insurance, and an operable vehicle that meets FPI's Driving Standards and Personal Vehicle Use policy.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
