Clinical Training Specialist

As a key member of the LifeWays team, the RN Clinical Training Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our clinical employees. Under the direction of the Supervisor, Clinical Training, this position plans, organizes, and coordinates onboarding for new clinical staff within the Integrated Health Department.
This role also develops and implements ongoing training programs across clinical programs and partnerships to enhance skill and knowledge levels within the LifeWays mission, vision, and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates and delivers onboarding and ongoing training to LifeWays and Provider Network employees, focusing on clinical skills, medication administration, healthy lifestyles, and psychiatric nursing concepts.
- Organizes onboarding packets for new employees, including training logs, schedules, competency checklists, and necessary documents.
- Provides clinical consultation to ensure appropriate service delivery within LifeWays' network and internally.
- Monitors and tracks training to support LifeWays' network and staff, identifying trends and developing improvement plans.
- Collaborates with clinical supervisors and the Contracts Management Department to ensure clinical competence and quality service delivery.
- Participates in committees, such as CCBHC workgroups and Quality Management committees.
- Maintains trainer certifications, including CPR/First Aid and BLS, by completing necessary trainings and ensuring compliance.
- Prepares course feedback and evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness.
- Maintains records of trainee progress and achievements.
- Develops and implements 90-day reviews for new employees.
- Provides ongoing monitoring of competencies through chart reviews, observation, and other means.
- Provides feedback to supervisors on staff competencies and collaborates on performance improvement plans.
Requirements:
- BSN-RN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing + RN licensure) for Clinical Trainer II.
- MSN + RN licensure for Clinical Trainer III.
- Ability to be credentialed as a Mental Health Professional according to Michigan PIHP/CMHSP Provider Qualifications.
