Are you passionate about nurturing young minds? Pumpkin Patch Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Teacher in a 4K classroom. This role involves working 35-40 hours per week, with shifts scheduled between 7am and 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
We are looking for creative, adaptable, and self-motivated candidates who excel in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will provide consistent, caring, and supportive care for children while developing and executing engaging activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing a curriculum tailored for children aged 4-5.
- Employ positive reinforcement and redirection techniques to manage student behavior effectively.
- Help maintain and organize classroom materials, supplies, and decor.
- Ensure the classroom is clean and orderly, following the lead teacher's guidance.
- Address parent inquiries with respect and empathy.
- Foster open communication with staff and families.
- Engage in monthly staff meetings and participate in school-wide events.
- Adhere to school-wide protocols, including maintaining accurate records and participating in safety drills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to optimize shared resources and spaces.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and able to engage in various physical activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Compliance with licensing standards set by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families for early childhood professionals.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Completion of required Child Care classes or willingness to complete them within six months.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with basic computer proficiency.
- Solid understanding of child development principles.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of health screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
- Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education.
- Training in Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma.
