Job Summary

The Stoughton Area School District is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of District Educational Assistant. This role will provide support to teaching staff in meeting the educational needs of all students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of instruction to individual and/or small groups of students under the supervision of a teacher.
  • Provide personal care and assist students in mastering self-help skills such as toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, etc. when needed.
  • Work cooperatively with students, families, staff, and administrators to ensure a positive educational environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual student behavior plans.
  • Promote acceptance of differences with students, staff, and community.
Requirements
  • Must have a willingness to work with all students.
  • Must be eligible for state certification as a special education EA.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have or obtain upon employment, first aid and CPR certification.
  • Must have effective communication skills (oral and written) in order to work effectively with parents, students, and staff.
