Medical Laboratory Scientist

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, coagulation, and molecular diagnostics.
- Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
- Collaborate with other laboratory professionals to resolve technical issues and improve laboratory operations.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and laboratory procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- One year of experience in a hospital laboratory setting, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by a recognized professional organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
