Job Summary

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Facilities Security Officer to join our team at APT Research. Key Responsibilities
  • Administer day-to-day security programs, including personnel processing, program reviews, document control, audits, and self-inspections.
  • Protect and manage classified information and equipment, requiring a deep understanding of security policies, procedures, and oversight requirements.
  • Ensure all local security compliance documentation is up-to-date and current.
  • Maintain and manage DISS records for cleared personnel.
  • Conduct new employee security indoctrinations and ensure all cleared personnel complete mandatory annual security training.
  • Conduct security debriefings as necessary.
  • Conduct annual security self-inspections and support DCSA Security Vulnerability Assessments or Continuous Monitoring Engagements.
  • Develop, implement, and analyze programs to ensure adherence to federal laws, regulations, and directives for classification management.
  • Provide clear guidance to company employees and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as needed.
  • Maintain the repository for cognizant security assessment data for the local facility.
  • Work as a team player, exhibit flexibility, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Bring security risks to the attention of senior management as identified.
  • Lead and execute the Insider Threat Program and serve as the ITPSO.
Requirements
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 10+ years related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Completed DCSA FSO Curriculum with certificate of completion.
  • Strong working knowledge of National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), other relevant DoD security guidance, and ICD standards.
  • Working knowledge of SF-86, SF-312, DD-254, 441, 441-1, SF-328, and other government required forms.
  • Thorough understanding of security databases such as DISS, NBIS, and NISS.
  • Experience creating and conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings, and refresher briefings as necessary.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience conducting security incident inquiries.
  • Resourceful in solving problems and capitalizing on opportunities.
  • Security Professional Certifications/Affiliations.
Security Clearance Requirement
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI.
Work Environment
  • Office environment.
  • Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers.
Travel Requirements
  • Requires ability to travel domestically (15 lbs.
Other Essential Functions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgment.
