Job Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist 2 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, you will provide occupational therapy services to patients with impairments, developmental disabilities, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. You will work under occasional guidance to analyze comprehensive information from formal and informal assessments, determine a rehabilitation treatment diagnosis, and develop a plan of care. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patient care, outcomes, and system improvement objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to promote patient progress and achieve goals.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and coordinate patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote patient-centered care.

Technical Capabilities:

  • Rehabilitation Therapist Patient Documentation: Demonstrates proficiency in documentation practices, including accurate and timely completion of patient records.
  • Treatment Planning & Goal Setting: Develops and documents patient-focused short- and long-term goals that are functional and measurable.
  • Rehabilitation Therapist Patient Evaluation: Conducts comprehensive evaluations to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Treatment Implementation: Provides treatment consistent with physician prescription and established plan of care, modifying treatment plans as needed to demonstrate provision of skilled therapy services.

  • Executes job responsibilities with an understanding of how output would affect and impact other areas related to own job area/team.
  • Analyzes moderately complex problems using technical experience and judgment.
  • Provides informal guidance and support to team members.
