The successful candidates will have a strong background in synthetic chemistry and experience in the synthesis of nanomaterials or organic-inorganic hybrid materials.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and synthesize novel nanomaterials and organic-inorganic hybrid materials with emergent photonic, magnetic, and/or quantum properties.
- Characterize and integrate these materials into devices using advanced optical and structural characterization techniques.
- Collaborate with a dynamic and multidisciplinary research team to bridge fundamental science with application and results-oriented device development and integration.
- Access a suite of existing synthesis, integration, and characterization tools, including infrastructure for air-sensitive handling protocol, automated reactor system, and thin-film fabrication tools.
- Ph.D. in inorganic, organic, or materials chemistry or related field completed within the last 5 years or soon to be completed.
- Strong synthesis experience with organometallic, organic, and inorganic synthesis.
- Chemical synthesis skills using air-sensitive handling techniques.
- Experience with a range of optical and structural characterization techniques.
- Strong chemical intuition and creativity.
- Strong background in chemical synthesis method development.
- A strong publication record.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team.
- Ability to work productively on multiple projects.
- Synthesis and postsynthetic modification of metal- and covalent-organic frameworks.
