ER Technician

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled ER Technician to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care, maintain a clean and safe environment, and perform various clerical duties.

1. Obtain patient registration information, enter it into the computer system, and prepare ER charts.
2. Perform order entry, including entering orders, charges, and reprinting orders.
3. Assume responsibility for the admitting process, including checking emergency department supplies and restocking as needed.
4. Perform ER tech skills competently, including vital signs, EKGs, bandaging, setting up oxygen, and finger-stick glucose tests.
5. Assist in room readiness, answer phones, and facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams.
6. Perform phlebotomies as directed by RNs and maintain general appearance of the Emergency Department.
7. Display analytical and problem-solving skills, communicate problems to managers, and follow time and attendance policies.
8. Attend educational programs provided by the hospital or outside organizations related to job responsibilities.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous medical background and/or EMS training preferred
• BLS certification preferred

This is a per diem position with variable shifts, including evenings and nights. The Emergency Department is a fast-paced environment that requires strong communication and teamwork skills.
