Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care, maintain a clean and organized Emergency Department environment, and perform various clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain patient registration information, enter it into the computer system, and provide ER charts.
- Perform order entry, including entering orders, charges, and reprinting orders.
- Assume responsibility for the admitting process, including checking emergency department supplies and restocking as needed.
- Perform ER tech skills competently, including vital signs, EKGs, bandaging, setting up oxygen, and finger-stick glucose tests.
- Assist in room readiness, answer phones, and facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Perform phlebotomies as directed by RNs and maintain general appearance of the Emergency Department.
- Display analytical and basic problem-solving skills, communicate problems to managers as appropriate, and follow all time and attendance policies.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous medical background and/or EMS training preferred
- BLS preferred
