Job Summary

Northwell Health seeks a skilled Pharmacist to join our team in a PBM Specialist role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy practice, with experience in interpreting and dispensing medications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and compound medications according to established procedures.
  • Dispense medications to inpatients in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Document non-formulary drug approvals, restricted drug approvals, and unusual medication orders.
  • Review medication orders for completeness, interactions, and incompatibilities/inconsistencies.
  • Consult with prescribers for discrepancies and report prescription errors to leadership.
  • Initiate computer-generated labels and maintain records/statistics as required.
  • Order medications and supplies, and receive and check them for accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy degree required.
  • Current License to practice as a Pharmacist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Preferred qualification: minimum 3 years of PBM or Health Plan experience.

Additional Information
