As a faculty member, you will be responsible for providing instruction, research, and reference assistance to students, as well as maintaining currency in your field of expertise.
Responsibilities- Provide excellent instruction, research, and reference assistance to students, including day, evening, weekend, in-person, online, or hybrid assignments.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
- Maintain currency in your field(s) of expertise.
- For credit-course instruction, provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
- Associate faculty are typically not required to participate in District or department service, such as committee work, evaluations, student learning outcomes assessment, and hiring committees, but may be asked to perform these services for additional compensation.
- Master's degree in library science, library and information science, or the equivalent.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
- Experience in providing in-person and online reference services at an academic library, teaching credit courses in information literacy, and teaching course-integrated instruction sessions and library workshops.
