Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Houston Metro Urology Surgical Center. As a key member of our ambulatory surgery center, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in an operating room setting. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee instrument and equipment setup for surgical procedures, including utilization of preference cards and anticipation of surgeon needs
  • Coordinate and oversee the surgical room during procedures as the circulator
  • Facilitate effective and efficient transitions between surgical procedures
  • Utilize proper body mechanics when moving patients to prevent injury
  • Manage patient care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment
  • ACLS as required by facility
  • CNOR certification preferred

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on location and industry standards.
