As a Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior, you will be responsible for operating various vehicles and equipment, performing maintenance tasks, and ensuring safety on the roads. Your role will include:
- Driving trucks and operating light equipment to transport crews and materials.
- Maintaining right-of-ways and roadsides using mowers and tractors.
- Installing and removing signs, fences, and guardrails.
- Applying surfacing materials to repair roadways.
- Managing traffic around construction sites following safety protocols.
- Performing routine inspections and maintenance on equipment.
- Responding to snow removal and emergency situations as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement.
- Commercial Pesticide applicator's license.
- Basic computer skills.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to respond to emergencies within 45 minutes.
- Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
