At the Detroit Medical Center, we are seeking an Executive Occupational Therapist Lead to oversee the occupational therapy team.

About the Role

This leadership position will be responsible for coordinating staff work schedules and patient care assignments to ensure timely service delivery. The successful candidate will follow, clarify, and enforce department policies and procedures to provide efficient occupational therapy services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of leadership principles and practices, as well as experience in supervising and mentoring occupational therapy personnel. This individual will participate in performance improvement activities and serve as a clinical resource to the occupational therapy team.

A key aspect of this role is providing in-service education and orientation programs to support the professional growth and development of therapy staff. Additionally, the Executive Occupational Therapist Lead will oversee, instruct, and evaluate occupational therapy staff in the application of occupational therapy principles, modalities, and techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate staff work schedules and patient care assignments
  • Enforce department policies and procedures
  • Provide in-service education and orientation programs
  • Oversee and instruct occupational therapy staff
  • Mentor and supervise occupational therapy personnel
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience in a clinical area
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Michigan
  • Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan with company match.
