Position Overview:

The Mail Processing Specialist II plays a crucial role in supporting the containment area, adhering to all established safety protocols and procedures. This position involves receiving and managing mail through automated systems and equipment, ensuring proper handling and processing of all incoming items.

Key Responsibilities:

The Mail Processing Specialist II is tasked with various duties, including but not limited to:

  • Manually processing mail from delivery vehicles using conveyors.
  • Handling mail received in various containers and formats.
  • Utilizing scanners to log received items into the inventory management system.
  • Conducting security screenings of all items received.
  • Signing for deliveries after processing.
  • Sorting and pre-sorting parcels for efficient handling.
  • Preparing the containment area for daily operations, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
  • Identifying different mail classes and categories accurately.
  • Operating equipment for sorting and processing mail.
  • Maintaining organization within the containment area.
  • Performing additional clerical duties as assigned, including quality checks and support tasks.
  • Cross-training in various operational areas to meet workload demands.
  • Adhering to safety practices and using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Staying informed about performance standards and quality requirements.
  • Completing necessary training to maintain operational readiness.

Additional Responsibilities:

The Mail Processing Specialist II acknowledges the importance of remaining within the containment area until authorized to leave, including during breaks.

Compensation:

This position offers a competitive hourly wage, inclusive of shift differentials and health benefits.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a high-volume mail processing or warehouse environment.
  • The ability to complete necessary assessments and background checks.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting and moving items.
